a time to come together... CATHOLICS VOTE NO An event for Catholics who want to defeat
the amendment limiting the freedom to marry
2 to 4 p.m. Sunday , June 10, 2012 Good Samaritan United Methodist Church
5730 Grove Street, Edina
Please join other concerned Catholics to stand together and take action out of our deepest values of love and dignity by working to defeat the amendment on Minnesota’s ballot in November that would limit the freedom to marry.
We gather at a time of great tension in our Catholic parishes. The hierarchy of our church has made it a top priority to pass a hurtful amendment that treats gay and lesbian people as “less than.” This makes many Catholics feel hurt, silenced, and alone.
But faithful Catholics from across the state are coming out for love and respect and working to defeat the amendment. If you are concerned or hurt by this amendment, we need YOU to help reach the many conflicted Catholics with a message of love and inclusion.
We must not be silenced or afraid. Please join us June 10 to break out of isolation in our parishes and to get the tools to defeat this harmful amendment in November.
This event is being organized by Catholics for Marriage Equality MN, in collaboration with Minnesotans United for All Families, the Catholic Coalition for Church Reform, Dignity Twin Cities and Call to Action MN.
